Our Story
BrainTouch started in a tiny Atlanta kitchen back in 2016. What began as a side project between friends who loved cooking but struggled with organizing recipes turned into something bigger than we ever expected. We're not just another cooking website — we're the friends who'll help you figure out what's for dinner tonight.
Why We're Here
At BrainTouch, we believe cooking shouldn't be complicated. We're here to strip away the intimidation and bring back the joy of making something delicious with your own two hands. No fancy equipment required — just honest ingredients and simple techniques.
Our Mission
To make home cooking accessible to everyone by providing straightforward recipes, practical tools, and a supportive community where cooking isn't a competition but a daily pleasure.
Our Vision
A world where more people cook at home, waste less food, and reconnect with the simple satisfaction of feeding themselves and those they care about.
Our Approach
We test everything in real kitchens with average equipment. If it doesn't work for us, we don't share it with you. That's our promise.
The People Behind BrainTouch

Michael Brennan
Founder & Head Chef
I started BrainTouch after a disastrous dinner party where I completely botched my grandmother's lasagna recipe. I was so frustrated that I couldn't find a simple way to organize family recipes that I decided to build one myself. Before BrainTouch, I spent 12 years as a software developer who cooked to relax. Now I'm a cooking enthusiast who develops software — funny how life works out sometimes.
When I'm not in the kitchen testing recipes, you'll find me hiking with my dog Sam or trying to grow vegetables in my backyard garden (with mixed results, if I'm being honest).
Our Values
1 Simplicity
We believe good food doesn't need to be complicated. Our recipes use everyday ingredients and straightforward techniques.
2 Honesty
We'll never pretend a recipe is easier than it is or claim something tastes amazing when it's just okay. That's just not our style.
3 Community
Cooking is better together. We foster a judgment-free zone where questions are welcomed and mistakes are learning opportunities.
4 Accessibility
Great food belongs to everyone. We design our content to be approachable regardless of kitchen size, budget, or experience level.
